Protyre donation gives Bike Festival strength

The team at our Plymouth branch are bike enthusiasts and well known amongst the South West biking community so were only too happy to step up to the plate when they were asked to support the 2017 BMAD Bike Festival on Paignton beach.

BMAD – short for Bikers Make A Difference – have been hosting the festival since 2005, raising tens of thousands for charity as a result. The festival is one of a host of events the team run to support The Air Ambulance, St Johns Ambulance, Devon Freewheelers (Blood Bikes) and the Torbay Young Carers, in addition to other good causes in the TQ postcode area.

The Protyre Plymouth team donated prizes for the strongest man and woman competition, as well as a £200 bike tyre voucher for the raffle and running a ‘guess the number of dust caps in the jar’ competition.

The strongest man and woman contest required competitors to hold a tyre (provided by Protyre naturally!) at arm’s length for as long as possible and was hosted by BMAD patron and two-times Mr Universe, Mike Mitchell. The winners walked away with £50 Love2Shop vouchers donated by Protyre, £50 cash, and a winner's certificate – not a bad haul for less than two minutes’ work!

We had a great weekend and credit is due to everyone attending and the BMAD team for organising such a great event. See you next year!
