Our Spring Vehicle Health Check takes approximately 15-20 minutes and includes essential inspections performed by our expert technicians to ensure your car is ready for spring driving conditions.

A Protyre Autocare Spring Vehicle Health Check includes:

1. Car Battery Health

Transitioning from the cold weather to Spring can be tough on your car battery, leading to unexpected breakdowns. Our expert technicians assess your battery’s charge level, starting performance and overall condition to ensure it’s ready to handle the demands of spring driving. If any issues are found, we’ll provide you with practical solutions to keep your vehicle powered throughout the colder months.

💡 Did you know? Faults in vehicle electrics/electronics resulting from weakening batteries are the most common cause of breakdowns in the UK.

2. Tyre Safety Check

Your tyres are the only point of contact between your vehicle and the road, making them essential for your safety. Our expert technicians carry out a close inspection of tread depth, tyre pressure, and overall condition (A.C.T) to ensure your tyres provide optimal grip and performance on wet roads. We’ll also check for any visible damage or irregular wear patterns to help you avoid any potential issues before they arise.

3. Exterior Lighting Check

With some dark early mornings and late nights still upon us, clear visibility when driving is critical. We will check that all your vehicle’s exterior lights are operating correctly and advise of any issues. Our checks will also look for dim lights, any missing segments in LED lamps, or discoloured bulbs.

💡 Did you know? Failure to comply with certain headlight rules could land you with a £1000 fine.

4. Windscreen Wiper Blades Condition

If your windscreen wipers are past their best, they will not clear your windscreen effectively. Problems include smearing, juddering across the glass and being noisy when in use. They may be split, torn or the rubber may have hardened with age. If there’s a problem with your wiper

blades, we will find it and notify you of the best solution. This check also includes your rear wiper/s - if fitted.

💡 Did you know? If you are caught driving with a faulty windscreen wiper, you can be issued with a £50 fine.

5. Washer Fluid Supply

Washer fluid keeps your windscreen screen clean by removing streaks, muck, bugs and so on. It helps clear light frost from the glass and can prevent the washer jets and the content of the screen wash bottle from freezing solid. We will check the level in your washer bottle and can top it up with a season-appropriate concentration of washer fluid.

💡 Did you know? Driving with an empty bottle and /or a screen washer system that doesn’t work is an offence. This could get you a fine and points on your driving licence.

6. Engine Oil Level

As the lifeblood of a vehicle’s engine, oil is a critical fluid component. We will check the amount of oil in your engine and ensure there is the right quantity for it to continue it’s hard work lubricating moving parts and managing heat distribution.

💡Did you know? In a cold engine, oil becomes thicker. Most modern engines use synthetic oil which is less prone to this issue, and it reduces the effort on your battery and starter motor when you first fire up your engine on a chilly day.
